I earned a bachelor's of science in biology in 2005 from Judson college. I began teaching high school life sciences in 2006, and made the move to Millbrook Middle School in 2013. I love the great outdoors and enjoys forcing my particular fondness of hiking and kayaking onto my husband and son.
I love animals, and have a particular enthusiasm for reptiles. I currently share my home with two dogs, a cat, two bearded dragons, and a very large, ill-tempered iguana. I've recently had a lot of questions about Nessie, the classroom lizard. Nessie was a yellow phase leopard gecko. She passed away about a year ago at the age of 16, and I haven't quite mourned Nessie enough to replace her yet.
I also love TIE-DYE! I never thought that when I arranged a tie Dye lab for the ionic and covalent bonding unit 10 years ago, that it would become such a hyped 8th grade event. I am so excited to share my love of tie dye with all of my students.
